Overview

Kunsu Project Gold Property

The Kunsu Gold Concession is located approximately 35 Km Northwest of Kumasi and 240 Km Northwest of Accra (Figure 1). Access to the licence area is mainly by way of the Kumasi-Sunyani highway and then turning northwest at Mankranso to Kunsu township. There are a series of interconnecting motorable to semi-motorable dirt roads which can be used to fairly traverse about 70% of the license areas. The closest administrative centre is Mankranso (5 Km from Kunsu); the district capital of the Ahafo Ano south West district with infrastructure that includes a hospital, schools, telecommunication services and a connection to the national electricity grid.

Ghana is the second largest gold producer in Africa with a number of new mines in development or recently declaring commercial production (Obotan, Bibiani, etc). Two new mines Azumah Resources and Cardinal Namdini Gold are at Feasibility study and construction stages. Castle Sika's Kunsu project is located in southwest Ghana, in the northeastern portion of the Asankragwa gold belt. This prospective land package encompasses ~137 square kilometres, lying about 25 kilometres northwest of the Asanko Esaase and 50 kilometres north of Asanko Obotan producing gold projects which together account for over 12 million ounces in gold reserves and resources (Figure 2). Due to the proximity of multi-million ounce producers, the Kunsu concession is within an area of well-established mining infrastructure and support.
